Missing Money Australia (Missing Money Australia or we, us or our) takes protecting your personal information seriously. This privacy policy provides you with information regarding how your personal information is collected, used and stored by Missing Money Australia and why it is required by Holding Authorities of unclaimed money.
What personal information do we collect?
We collect and hold:
your contact details, such as business address (when claiming on behalf of businesses), home address, telephone numbers and email address;
your personal details, such as name, address, date of birth, proof of identity documentation (required by government departments/holding authorities to prove ownership of unclaimed money), bank details (required to deposit refunded money).
How do we collect your personal information?
We collect your personal information from publicly available data bases and directly from you.
Who do we share your personal information with?
We only EVER provide your personal information to the Holding Authority of the unclaimed money in question. All Holding Authorities within Australia are required by law to receive proof of ownership of unclaimed money. It is for this purpose; your personal information is required. When using Fee from Refund Pty Ltd (ABN 99 156 638 890) to process your refund, we will provide your nominated bank account details to enable the deposit of your refund. Missing money Australia will NEVER provide/sell/share or otherwise, your personal information.
How do we store and protect your personal information?
Missing Money Australia stores all personal information securely. Your personal information may be stored at our agency in various forms. Hard copy format records are de-identified following the refund process and stored in a secured environment. Information in electronic format is stored in protected information systems.
How can you access and correct your personal information?
You have the right to request access and/or correction to your personal information. Please make any request in writing to admin@missingmoneyaustralia.com.au and we will respond within 30 days.
How can you lodge a privacy related complaint and how will the complaint be handled by Missing Money Australia?
We take complaints and concerns regarding privacy seriously. You should express any privacy concerns you have in writing by emailing admin@missingmoneyaustralia.com.au we will then attempt to resolve your concern in accordance with our resolution procedure.
